Basic colours (warm and cool of each primary):
- "TriArt" Liquid or "Golden" Fluid Acrylics (2 oz.)
- Red - Naphthol Red Light
- Quinacridone Magenta
- Yellow - Hansa Yellow Medium or Primary Yellow
- Yellow Oxide or Raw Sienna
- Blue - Ultramarine Blue
- Phthalo Blue (green shade)
- White – Titanium White or White Gesso
Optional colours
- Iridescent Pearl
- Any metallic colours (gold, copper)
- Quinacridone Burnt Orange ("Golden" brand)
- Quinacridone Gold ("Golden" brand)
- Green Gold ("Golden" brand)
- Jenkins Green ("Golden" brand)
- Dioxazine Purple
- Naphthamide Maroon
- Titanium Buff (Unbleached Titanium)
- Any other colors that you like
Mediums
- Liquid Matt Medium (4 oz)
Optional Mediums
- Gel Medium
- Modeling paste
- White Acrylic Gesso
Supports
- Watercolour Paper (140 lb. 100% Cotton Rag, Acid free)
- 22" x 30" (at least 4 sheets, any brand or texture)
- "Winsor and Newton" or "Lana" Hot pressed (smooth surface)
- "Winsor and Newton" or "Arches" (cold pressed)
- Optional – Canvas or Untempered Masonite
Support Board
- I use a piece of Masonite slightly larger than a full sheet of paper (26" x 34")
*** Please do not paint directly on the table. ***
Brushes
- One Large Round (Nylon or Taklon #12-20)
- One Flat Chiseled Edge (Nylon or Taklon 1")
- One good quality flat "hardware store" nylon brushes (1.5" – 2")
- Optional - Filbert (Nylon or Taklon 1")
- Bristle brushes, palette knife, sponge rollers, etc.
Other Stuff
- *** Bring photos, sketches and anything you want to paint (Your inspiration to design a painting from.) ***
- Plastic containers for water (yogurt, ice cream, etc..)
- Green garbage bag to place under your support board,
paints and palette.
- Palette (Styrofoam trays or plates work well)
- Water Mister Bottle (old hair spray or Windex bottle)
- Saran Wrap, paper towels, sponge, Jay clothes
- Apron or old shirt
- Sketch book and pencils (HB and 4B)
- Optional "Caran D’ache" Water Soluble Crayons and India Ink
